Grind? I want more to do! You know there's raid's, Heroic Mode Instances and stuff like that, now that's a challenge.

all of which has nothing to do with how high or low the level cap is.
Hard mode is coming this week. same level cap, more content, more challenge. enjoy.

Confusing that is. So what did you do for the other 50+ weeks?

I have to ask why grind for something that costs 15k when you get some the same thing stat wise for 1.5k? Reason because it gives people something to aim for.

THAT is the real let-down in GW, sword and armor are all the same, the same stats, just different skins, add a quick race to level 20, and you got a game that lasts for about a week or two.
|
really? you sure? only a week or two? That's odd, because theres thousands of players who have been playing for two years. I think you are the narrow-minded one. There is more to content than just levels. go out and explore! Oh, and for what its worth, I've been playing off and on for over two years, and have yet to even bother with obsidian armor.... most of it looks dumb anyways

Try PvP, that is pretty much the reason why every top level armour and weapons are the same.
This game is 'balanced' for PvP, its no longer whom has the best equipment and levels wins.
Its whom plays on the broken maps with a choice of skill bars and a bit of skill that wins.

actually I got a char to lv 20 and fully geared with max armor and all the skills he needed and ascended in a day... but that doesn't mean the game is any worse for it

And how exactly is any of that related to the level cap ?
Which of the elite missions have you played ?

Same here - it's just a shame Obsidian ranger looks really smart. I've had to settle for Ancient, which has a really nice cloak, but unfortunately the usual roadkill arm crap. I hope in gW2 they consider alternative ways to earn the highest class of armour - maybe a series of accolades to achieve before you can buy it, but keep the actual price within reach of all and not just uber-farmers, power-traders etc.
To Erik - I wonder if you could explain what would be different with a higher level cap? Really, I haven't played WOW, so I don't get it. It seems to me that a higher level cap would be balanced by higher level monsters and the game would play largely the same, but it would take longer to get into?
Personally, I want max stats & kit as soon as possible, or I feel like I'm stuck in the kiddy area. It seems to me, that the real game starts when you're capping elite skills and developing your "build". Leveling is just the practice phase.

It's actually BEST thing about gw.
a) grinding for prestige armor for sake of prestige and looks is cool. having to grind for prestige armor for sake of stats is pretty lame.
b) ditto weapons, titles, etc ...
---
GW is NOT and never was about item stats, it was always about skills. If you want game that makes you no-life, gw is not for you. It never was.
L 20 was not supposed to be ultimate achievent, neither was getting max weapons of max armor, they are just tools.

The real game begins after you reach level 20, as it should. I don't want to play Grind Wars; who can grind levels and cash for the highest level and 1337327 armor the best. This game is about your build, not your ability to grind <---- This is what I love about it. Grind != fun.

Go off and play WoW then; if you don't like the GW play style then don't play it at all. I do not see any challenge at all at grinding your way to insanely high levels; all it does is waste precious time, gets boring quick and entitles you to label anyone under your level a "noob", but then again, that's my own opinion; everyone is entitled to one.

eirk it's not an MMO everything has to be completely balanced hince pvp in a game that is basicly a multiplayer RPG and this game is just a busness test to see what will and won't work for the real mainstream MMO (GW2) oh and the fact that the game was started for pvp couldn't hurt to mention. pve please don't flame me for the mention of pvp I'm not nor never shell I be a pvp'er and miss the origonal unbalenced skills. Wammo FTW.
p.s. everyone read my misspelled runon its fnu+

I think what they're going to do in GW2 is an unlimited cap or something, but it's either just for show and the attribute points stop going up after some time, or it's easy to gain levels and it all adds up to around what lvl 20 is now.

1. Don't compare GW1 and Wow. They are waaaaay too different.
2. Want a challenge? Try DoA Hard mode, if that isn't enough...

Yaga, it may not be so. GW2 for all we know might be with uber powerful spells, thousands of HP and energy and the levels would be all significant (or up to ~lvl100 if uncapped).

unblanced and/or high lvl cap = MMO
Balanced/primarily pvp based/story line/everyday person playable/easy pickup/achivable everything for everyday player = CO
p.s. my term for everyday player are for people that only play about 14hrs a week or less.
GW2 is supposes to be going MMO but probubly will keep aspects of a CO hint High lv cap might not be for show but they will probubly have a balance system for pvp implimented to stop high low lvs unbalanced fighting.
p.p.s. as this is the like 20ith thread on lv cap can someone please close it before the guy that nolonger plays this game gits flamed by people that left WOW or further flamed by the comunity he left aka "fanboys"
